Kenya’s ruling partly, the Jubilee Alliance Party(JAP) is said to be running broke.
The party despite being under the Kenya’s most powerful man, President Uhuru Kenyatta was confirmed to be broke recently in a financial year report.
As at now, the party is said to be having more liabilities than its assets. It is clear that the current liabilities of the party are worth Ksh133,558,229 exceeded the assets of Ksh 67,278,244 by Ksh 66,279,985 hence, the party was operating on negative capital.
The party is said to be running exclusively on support from creditors, banks and well-wishers.
This prompted the Jubilee Deputy Secretary General, Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany to write a letter to Rafael Tuju the party Secretary General on how the monthly contributions by the party members were being utilized.
In the letter, the MP requested SG Rafael Tuju to share all the approved financial records, reports and committee minutes for the years in question.
Kapseret MP Oscar Kipchumba Sudi recently came out to order the auditing of the Party.
Rafael Tuju agreed to share the relevant documents for the period in question with the lawmaker.
