Have you ever thought what it means and where it came from? Mmmh, the National Anthem is a song derived from a lullaby song from Pokomo community in coastal region of Kenya.
Here comes a beautiful gospel artist from Pokomo community a tribe that loves music. Speaking to MITEGO SASA blogs, Rachel Maliwa popularly known as Pokomo Princess made it clear that she came a music lover at her tender ager about 13 years of age while in Church Choir.
Her background has been so rooted to music since her father and grandparents used to compose and sing songs though at their days nobody bothered to record any song. According to her, they used to write and sing in church choir.
“I started to record my first audio song on November 2017 a song dubbed This Christmas’ and later done more songs like Sisemi, Mapenzi, Nitsamu’ explained Pokomo Princess.
Pokomo Princess uses her music as a tool of communication to people in sharing a message that comes deep from heart in order to sooth physically, phycological and emotionally.
She know rocks the airwaves with her song ‘Rule’ dedicated to women to celebrate them for their tireless efforts in societies.
“My music is influenced by the likes of Celine Deon, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, I may not sound exactly like them but they stand to a place where they speak both inner peace and physical” said Pokomo Princess.
