With increased economy and high cost of living, it happens that many people are getting into traps desperately.
A young lady has told MITEGO SASA blogs how she ended up being lured by a restaurant manager to enjoy the ‘forbidden fruit’ in order to keep her in his restaurant as a worker.
Speaking to MITEGO SASA, Emily Wakio told us that she got hired into the Cliffneck Restaurant owned by Francis Kinyua which is located in Kirinyaga County opposite Kerugoya Boys.
She got papers and signed contract with the employers on April 7th 2021.
As the days passed on being a worker at the restaurant, they came up with claims that she was on probation but not employment which wasn’t the agreement at the start during contract signing according to Emily.
“After I signed the working contract in the middle of job they started saying that I’m on probation which was not an agreement” she told MITEGO SASA.
Instead of letting her finish up his contract or other the probation period they claim, they terminated her from job without notice.
“And as they claimed I was on probation for three months, the probation period was not even over” she added.
According to Emily, she came to realize that they used that trap system to misuse the desperate employees.
“The manager is known of sleeping with employee ladies in order to keep them at work” she added that, Yes, the manager has been trying to lure me severely to sleep with him”.
She went forth and wrote an email to the employer concerning the termination issue but all in vain, he never replied. He only compensated her for only one month but it supposed to three months according to the law.
“He never replied my email, only that he compensated one month but it’s supposed to be 3 months according to the law” she concluded, Bitter Emily.
