How Rapper Collo Went From a Monthly Salary of Ksh1M to Being Penniless

In a 2020 interview with Kiss FM, the rapper discussed how he overcame unemployment, alcoholism, millions of dollars in debt, and a troubled connection with his family.
Collins Majale, better known as Colloh, is most known for his work as a member of the famed rap group Kleptomeniax, which generated several hit tunes, including Tuendelee ama Tusiendelee.

In a 2020 interview with Kiss FM, the rapper discussed how he overcame unemployment, alcoholism, millions of dollars in debt, and a troubled connection with his family.

Colloh stated that he worked as a copywriter for a major advertising firm and was paid Ksh300,000 per month.

To increase his income, he pitched at least ten jingles every month to several clients, earning him an additional Ksh700,000.

He was buried deep in alcoholism at the time, unaware that his fortunes would change for the worse.
“I was a copywriter who earned Ksh250,000 every month.” Then I decided it wouldn’t hurt to pitch a jingle concept to any of the client services within any account at any agency, thus I became a supplier.

“In a month, I would produce at least ten jingles for different companies, which would get me an extra Ksh700,000.” Money was never an issue, but I never saw it since my spirituality was dim. “That money resulted in the creation of even more indebtedness,” he explained.

He got into an argument with his superiors one day while they were working on a campaign project for a client.
