6 hours in class are Enough ❗️


The ministry of education has issued a strict regulation to school heads stating that learning in all schools should take 6 hours only per day.

The Cabinet secretary for Education, Ezekiel machogu issued the statement in a meeting with Kenya Secondary school Heads Association (KESSHA) on Friday 16th June 2023.

Machogu said that learning should start at 8:00 Am up to 3:45 pm inclusive of breaks . According to Machogu the time is enough so as to allow the students read independently and engage in extra curricular activities.

The CS stated that other developed countries have fewer teaching hours and are doing well.
He gave an example of Finland that has a three hour teaching program and is ahead of Kenya .
