Controversy over Ruto’s gifts to Faith Kipyegon

President Ruto hosted the double world record holder Faith kipyegon yesterday in state house after jetting back into the country.Faith was accompanied by fellow atheletes among them Ferdinand Omanyala.

Her reception at state house was a surprise to her . She left the state house with valuable gifts among them a 5 million cheque and a house valued at 6 million situated in park Road along Ngara .She expressed her joy with the gifts . She was extremely happy saying she was excited owning a house in Nairobi .

The president said that if the house was built under normal conditions, the3 bedroom house in park Road would cost anywhere between 15 M and 20 M .However , a closer look into the government housing project ranges a 3 bedroom house at a cost of 3M to 4M .

This is disparity of 2 million between than the price stated by the president and that set by the ministry.Earlier on tye ministry of housing said that the largest 3 bedroom house cost 4M. This brought a lot of controversy on social media.The president said that the house had been lowered to that price since the government believes that owning a house is a necessity for every Kenyan.

Fello atheletes Ferdinand Omanyala was also gifted with a 2 million cheque. Ruto also promised to award 5 million to any other Kenyan who would break a world record either in cash or in kind.
