The government through the transport cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced that it has cancelled the planned mandatory driving retests.

The mandatory test had been announced by the NTSA to all commercial and public service vehicle drivers.

This prompted the drivers to announce a strike that was planned for tomorrow Wednesday July 12 questioning the move.

The NTSA said that more than half of the drivers had failed the tests that had been issued to them

The government said that the tests had been suspended till September 1. It announced that a committee had been formed to look into the issues raised by the drivers .
