KENYA KWANZA SENATORS SAVE SIAYA DEPUTY GOVERNOR

Siaya deputy governor William Oduol has a reason to breathe at ease after his impeachment motion was declined by senators.

Twenty seven senators voted against the motion on the first charge while sixteen senators voted that the deputy governor is impeached. The twenty seven senators are allied to the Kenya kwanza government. The sixteen are allied to the allied to the Azimio coalition.

On the second charge , a similar number of senators twenty seven against sixteen voted against the impeachment and for the impeachment motion respectively.The Kenya kwanza members used used their majority numbers to save oduol’s job.

Oduol was impeached by the members of county assembly from his siaya county for alleged abuse of office and gross misconduct.
He was accused of spending up to ksh 18 Million tax payers money to renovate his office for his comfort.

The county assembly lawyer explained how the deputy governor wasted the county’s resources. He also bought a presidential chair worth 1,120,000 for his comfort.The committee of senators investigating his impeachment case had a chance to sit in the chair after it was brought to the Senate .
