Kiambu County was early this morning thrown into mourning after one of their own was mauled by Hyenas in Juja, Athi Village. This is not the first incident whereby roaming hungry wild animals from the nearby forests have invaded the residential areas causing deaths.
The Juja residents have called upon the relevant authorities to take action and prevent more deaths from occurring.
The late resident tried screaming for help during the attack but his screams were not helpful as the residents were unable to save him from the overwhelming 8 hungry hyenas that had surrounded him.
The young man was identified as Mwangi and his family was notified of the incident as his body remains were taken to General Kago Mortuary in Thika town, Kiambu County.
Following this latest attack, area residents now fear for their lives and call upon Kenya Wild Life to act with immediate effect and evacuate the animals to their relevant areas.
The animals are said to attack mostly during night hours since this is when their eyes are more powerful in vision with a stronger sense of smell.
