Raila cancels Kamukunji Rally

Azimio leader Raila odinga has camcelled the awaited kamukunji rally planned for today. raila announced to the public that the move was taken after observing that the protesters had been injured.

Raila said that the police were ruthless towards the protesters and they were injured badly. “some goons have this afternoon decsended on kamukunji grounds and shot indiscriminately to the crowd.police have also used water cannons to disperse those peacefully assembled there.”Raila in his statement said

He said that some goons had also been sponsored to bring chaos anf destroy property so as to blame the azimio team.

The anti government protests staged in Nairobi were meant to pressure the government to lower the cost of living for kenyans.

Anti riot police had been deployed in the city so as deal effectively with the protesters.Heavily armed police officers were also seen on the roads leading to statehouse.
