The Executive allocated ksh2.2trillon in 2023/24 budg

President Ruto’s executive has been allocated Sh2.2 trillion in the Sh3.7 trillion budget for the next financial year.

In the 2022-23 budget, the executive was allocated Sh2 trillion out of Retired President Uhuru’s Sh3.39 trillion budget.

President Ruto’s government has proposed a Sh3.6 trillion for the Financial Year 2023-24 with a Sh718 billion deficit to be financed through loans.

The Auditor General is set to receive a total of Sh7.6 billion, the Equalization Fund Sh7.8 billion, Conditional Grants Sh44 billion, and the Medical Equipment Scheme a share of Sh4.5 billion.

In next year’s budget, President Ruto’s government plans to source Sh588.5 billion within while Sh131.5 will come from international lenders.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has been tasked to collect Sh3 trillion in the next financial year up from the Sh2 trillion collected in 2022-23.
