Orange Democratic Movement,ODM Secretary general,Edwin sifuna has revealed that twenty eight members from the party are to face disciplinary action for failing to honour the coalition’s position on the controversial finance bill 2023.
The members include those who voted in favour of the bill and those who were absent during the voting.Azimio strongly opposed the bill saying it added Kenyans a heavier burden who are already crying overtaxed.
Among those who voted in favour of the bill are Nairobi’s women representative Esther pasariss, Caroli Omondi Mp suba, Elisha Odhiambo among others.
Sifuna said that they received concern from the general membership over the behavior of the members. He said that they had written letters to the twenty eight members and were expected to reply within forty eight hours.
The bill sailed though with a whooping 176 members voting in favor of the bill while 81 members voted against the bill. The bill now awaits the third reading next week where the members will again cast their votes on it after taking into account the amendments proposed.
